This week in Year 2, the children have been focusing on joining letters correctly during their handwriting lessons. This is a tricky and challenging skill, but the children are working incredibly hard and showing great determination as they rise to the challenge.

We have also been celebrating Black History Month. Our focus artist was Alma Thomas, and the children enjoyed learning about her life and artwork. They took inspiration from her colourful style to create their own fantastic pieces of art.

Our final clay session was a huge success. The children applied the skills they have developed throughout our clay sculpture unit to create beautiful decorative crosses. We were all so impressed with their creativity, effort and the high quality of their finished work.
