When the children arrived in class later that morning, they were greeted by a mysterious box waiting for them! 📦✨ This sparked lots of excitement and thoughtful discussion. We talked about what might be inside, how it could have got there, who it might belong to, and what it might need to be looked after. The children shared some fantastic ideas, demonstrating wonderful imagination and reasoning skills.
After all the guessing, we finally opened the box… and inside was a balloon! 🎈The balloon represents Milo, the pet cloud belonging to Lizzy, which introduced our new English text for this half term, Lizzy and the Cloud. We are all looking forward to exploring this beautiful story together. ☁️📚
To celebrate Earth Day, the children created nature-inspired artwork, using natural materials found outdoors. They thoroughly enjoyed getting creative while appreciating the natural environment around them.
In PE, Year 2 also started their new gymnastics unit. The children practised a range of movements and skills, focusing on control, balance, and coordination.
It’s been a busy and exciting start to the term—well done, Year 2! 🌍✨
