This week, Year 2 proudly completed their Art unit using clay. Throughout this topic, the children have been developing a range of sculpting skills and techniques, and they had the opportunity to bring all of their learning together in a final piece.
The children were challenged to design and create a 3D clay tile of a house. They carefully sketched their designs first, thinking about the details they wanted to include, before using clay to bring their ideas to life. They demonstrated excellent control and creativity while using techniques such as pressing in and cutting out to add texture and shape to their work. We were so impressed with their focus and imagination!
In PE, we began our lesson with a lively game of “Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” using cones. Things can get quite competitive during this warm-up! The children then continued developing the skipping skills we have been practising, showing great determination and improving their coordination and rhythm each week.
Well done, Year 2 — fantastic effort all round!
