Year 5 have had a very busy and productive week at school. The children thoroughly enjoyed working towards their Stage Two Bikeability award, where they had the opportunity to learn how to ride their bikes safely on the road. With the support and guidance of the instructors, the children practised a range of important cycling skills, including road positioning, signalling, and staying aware of their surroundings. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they developed the knowledge and skills needed to cycle safely.

In science, we began our exciting new biology topic, ‘Life Cycles’. This week we focused on the life cycles of mammals. The children showed great enthusiasm and curiosity while learning about the different stages of development. They each created their own life cycle diagrams, which included brilliant detail and thoughtful annotations to explain each stage. It was fantastic to see the effort they put into presenting their learning so clearly.

In maths, we continued working on our unit on fractions, decimals and percentages. The class worked extremely hard and demonstrated great perseverance when tackling some of the more challenging questions. Many children pushed themselves to try the trickier problems, showing resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.

Overall, it has been a fantastic week in Year 5, and the children should be very proud of their hard work and enthusiasm across all subjects.
