World Mental Health Day

Today, Mrs Summersby led a whole-school assembly to mark World Mental Health Day, which took place on Saturday.

The children reflected on the importance of looking after our mental health, just as we look after our physical health.

We talked about how all feelings are okay to feel, but sometimes our worries or emotions can begin to feel a little too heavy. When this happens, it is important to share how we are feeling with a trusted adult.

Mrs Summersby helped the children think about who their trusted adults might be and encouraged everyone to share simple strategies we can use each day to support our mental health and wellbeing.

We even practised some calming breathing exercises that we can use whenever we need a moment to feel calm and relaxed.

A lovely reminder that it’s okay to feel, it’s okay to talk and it’s okay to ask for help!
