Hello everyone, I hope you have had a great week, we certainly have in Year 2.
In maths over the last few weeks, Year 2 have been counting in 3’s. They were asked to create a number line using post it notes and then to represent each interval using cubes. The children then had a go at some problem solving and reasoning questions.
In phonics, the children used dictionaries to find their spellings. And check that Mrs Mooney had not made any mistakes! She hadn’t.
Lat week we finished our RE unit on baptism. The children were given the opportunity to handle baptism objects and explain symbolism.
We have now started our Advent unit beginning by creating our own class advent calendar.
In science last week, the children were learning all about healthy food and different food groups. This week year 2 have been learning all about how to keep clean.
Our DT unit this half term is to design and make a puppet. We began by joining fabric together using different techniques as well as learning how to thread a needle and complete a running stitch.
