Collective Worship

During their class-led worship today, Year 4 reflected on St Paul’s message and were reminded of the importance of showing love and kindness to others. The children thought carefully about how they can live out this message through their words and actions each day, following Jesus’ example in all that they do.

Year 1 enjoyed a peaceful guided meditation as they reflected on the wonder of God’s creation. They took time to look at the world around them and think about all the beautiful and wonderful things God has created. Inspired by their reflections, the children created some beautiful Creation artwork before working together to make their very own Class Creation Creed, sharing what they believe about God as Creator. Children in year 3 led a beautiful collective worship based around our RE Topic of Creation and Convenant. They reflected on Scripture from the book of Genesis and considered how they could take care of the earth and demonstrate stewardship over God’s gift to us.

Year 1 led their very first class worship today! The group carefully planned a beautiful Celebration of the Word based around Genesis 1:1–4. They created a calm and reflective time for the whole class to come together in prayer, listen to God’s Word and think about the wonder of His creation. A wonderful first experience of leading worship together.

Year 1 explored the Our Father in their RE lesson, thinking carefully about the words used in this special prayer and what they mean. The children then practised saying the prayer together before creating their own beautiful prayer cards to help them remember and use the Our Father in their own prayer time.

Reception Class shared a wonderful Celebration of the Word with the whole school this morning. They spoke beautifully about the importance of friendship and reminded us how we can be good friends to one another, just as Jesus was. Their confidence, thoughtful reflections and joyful participation made it a very special celebration for everyone.

This morning was a truly special occasion for our Year 4 children as they celebrated their First Holy Communion at Sacred Heart Church. Some friends in Year 1 led a beautiful class worship today. Their theme was Celebrating Faith, and they spent time reflecting on the many ways they can live out and celebrate their faith in their everyday lives. The children shared thoughtful ideas about showing kindness, helping others, praying, and following Jesus’ example. We were so proud of their confidence, reverence, and the wonderful reflections they shared.

This morning we shared our Celebration of the Word with our families. We celebrated the feast of Pentecost, the Church's birthday and the beginning of our faith community.

Children in Year 3 led a beautiful class worship based on the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus. We thought about how desperate Zacchaeus was to see Jesus and the impact this had on his life. Our leaders asked us to think about ways that we could see Jesus more clearly so that we could make a change in our lives in the way Zacchaeus did. We hung out promises on a prayer tree.

Year 3 led a beautiful class worship based on the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus. The children reflected on how desperate Zacchaeus was to see Jesus and the impact this had on his life. The worship leaders encouraged the class to think about ways they could see Jesus more clearly so that they too could make positive changes in their lives, just as Zacchaeus did. The children then hung their promises on the prayer tree as a symbol of their reflections and commitments.

Today, Year 1 led their families in a beautiful worship focused on the Holy Spirit and how it can help guide and shape people in their daily lives. The children spoke about the importance of holidays and holy days before singing, dancing and praying beautifully throughout the celebration. A truly special moment shared with their families.

A group of children from Year 1 led the class beautifully in worship today, focusing on this half term’s theme of discipleship. Children from Year 3 led a beautiful class worship based on our current worship theme, Discipleship. The children took inspiration from the Scripture -Jesus sends out the disciples Matthew 28:18-20. As a response to the Scripture they asked their friends to each place a candle in a circle around the Scripture and cross to symbolise the job that the disciples had to spread the message and light of Christ all around the world. Year 4 reflected on the theme of Discipleship as they led a beautiful Celebration of the Word in class. They shared thoughtful ideas and showed a deep understanding of what it means to follow and serve others.

Children from Y3 planned and lead a beautiful class worship today. The children used the theme, ‘Discipleship’ to select their scripture from John’s gospel-‘By this shall all mankind know you are my disciples’ The worship leaders asked us to think about how we can proudly show our discipleship and asked us to design a badge for a disciple to wear during their response. Thank you to Mrs Mooney and the Faith in Action team for our wonderful Stations of the Cross reflection day. It was lovely to see all of the children spending time at the different prayer stations as they followed Jesus’ journey to the cross They were incredibly reflective, prayerful and peaceful throughout—such a special and meaningful experience for everyone.

This morning, our Faith in Action team led the whole school in a meaningful worship as they guided us through the Stations of the Cross.

Today, Year 4 joined their peers from Catholic primary schools across the city for a special visit to the Cathedral, where they took part in the Stations of the Cross. It was a thoughtful and reflective experience and the children showed great respect and reverence throughout. We are very proud of how they represented our school.

Year 5 had a lovely time worshipping with their families today. They reflected on the Annunciation and Mary saying “yes” to God, thinking about what this means for us in our own lives. They also explored the importance of giving, linking their worship to Red Nose Day and how we can help others.
