Year 5 have had a wonderful penultimate week of the school year. We have continued enjoying our class reader, The Polar Bear Explorers' Club by Alex Bell. This brilliant book is packed with magical creatures, exciting adventures and plenty of surprises, and we have thoroughly enjoyed reading it aloud together. We also took part in two sessions on e-safety and anti-bullying. The children asked thoughtful questions, listened carefully and engaged brilliantly in the discussions.

Year 5 gave a truly fantastic performance of their scene from The Tempest at the Playmaking Festival. Year 5 had a wonderful trip to Keswick this week. They enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including canoeing, hill walking, rock climbing, and games in the park. They also visited the Mountain Rescue Centre, where they learned about the invaluable work carried out by the dedicated volunteers who help keep people safe in the local fells. It was a fantastic trip, full of adventure, teamwork, and memorable experiences.

This week in Year 5, we have had great fun preparing for our performance of The Tempest. We had a special visitor from Northern Stage who helped us with our rehearsals, and in Drama Club this week we began making costumes. Tonight, our talented Year 4 and Year 5 pupils gathered at Sacred Heart Church for their Easter performance. They read, sang and acted beautifully, sharing the Easter story and the importance of the sacrifice made, reminding us all how we carry this message in our own lives.
