Tonight, our talented Year 4 and Year 5 pupils gathered at Sacred Heart Church for their Easter performance. They read, sang and acted beautifully, sharing the Easter story and the importance of the sacrifice made, reminding us all how we carry this message in our own lives. Their performance brought the story to life in such a meaningful and memorable way. We are incredibly proud of their confidence, expression and teamwork—what a fantastic performance!

On Friday, Year 5 led a wonderful Celebration of the Word, focusing on the Annunciation and the role of Mary. They thoughtfully linked this to Red Nose Day and the important work carried out by Comic Relief, reflecting on the theme of loving your neighbour. For World Book Day this year, we invited all pupils to take part in a special competition inspired by The Places You’ll Go . In science, we have been learning about the different properties of materials. The children enjoyed exploring conductors and insulators, as well as soluble and insoluble materials. In geography, we continued our topic on energy by learning about renewable energy, including its benefits and some of the challenges it presents.

Year 5 have had a brilliant week. Our visit to Nissan was amazing and gave the children the opportunity to use their coding skills and see real-life robots in action. As part of our geography work, we were visited by a scientist specialising in solar energy, who helped us learn all about this important renewable resource. We also enjoyed Diversity Day , where we talked about what makes each of us special and unique.

What a wonderful week we’ve had in Year 5! Our Christmas party day was brilliant, with lots of games, crafts and dancing enjoyed by everyone.
