Year 2

This week, Year 2 have been busy learning and exploring across all subjects! In Maths , the children have been counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s, growing in confidence with their number patterns. In English , they have been sequencing the story Jim and the Beanstalk and using time openers to help retell the story in the correct order. In RE , we have started our new unit on Baptism , where we’ll be learning about different symbols and their meanings. We also concluded our Art unit

Year 2 enjoyed their visit to the Laing Art Gallery. They looked at a variety of artworks and explored both realistic and abstract styles and techniques. The children produced some lovely still life pieces themselves, using different materials and mediums.

Year 2 have had a busy week! In English, the focus was on using verbs to write command sentences, and the children also practised using the conjunction and in their writing. In maths, they continued to consolidate their understanding of tens and ones.
