Year 1 have had a lovely and very busy week!

In Science, the children planted their own beans and are excited to observe how they grow and change over time.

In English, they enjoyed exploring the story Beegu, thinking carefully about how she feels at different points in the story. The children then wrote their own sentences to describe Beegu’s emotions, showing great empathy and thoughtful ideas.

In Maths, the class continued developing their place value knowledge by focusing on tens and ones, working hard to deepen their understanding.

In RE, they have been thinking about gathering at Mass and then Gerard and Jo, from the Parish, came to tell them about all the special people in our Church Family.

In Art, they have been using card to create 3D sculptures.

The week ended on a real high with an amazing Diversity Day, where the children reflected on what makes them unique and special. They thoroughly enjoyed all the activities, especially the “Music Around the World” workshop with Miss Hurley, which was a big hit with everyone! 🌍🎶
