In their RISE session today, Year 1 explored the Rabbit Zone. They thought about how they might feel in this zone and discussed ways they could support themselves. The children then enjoyed some mindful time, thinking about their happy place—focusing on everything they could see, hear, feel and smell—before recording it in their workbooks and reflecting on why it helps them feel calm. A lovely session focused on wellbeing and self-awareness.

This week, our whole school community is proudly celebrating Neurodiversity Celebration Week. Today, every class explored the many different types of neurodiversity and discovered how our brains can work in wonderfully unique ways. The children reflected on how they can support one another, showing kindness, understanding and respect for everyone’s differences. Year 3 learned about the beliefs of Stone Age man in their History lesson this week. We looked at Long barrows and burial rituals as well as the significance of Stonehenge and the wy they worshipped nature. We made our own models of Stonehenge which were probably considerably easier to make than the real thing!

Today, Father Michael celebrated Mass with us  It was a truly special time of worship, with everyone reading, singing, and praying so beautifully. We are so proud of the reverence and participation shown by all.

It was lovely to see our Spiritual Movement Club in action.  They moved with such grace and reverence, worshipping in a truly creative and inspiring way.

Year 6 have been taking time this Lent to reflect on how they can grow in love, kindness, patience and forgiveness. Building on the seeds they planted last week, they created beautiful hearts filled with ideas about the kind things they have done and the kind things they can do for others. Just like the seeds they planted, these small acts of kindness will continue to grow and make a difference in our school community.

Year 1 have been thoroughly enjoying learning more about British Monarchs this week. The children explored several significant monarchs and discovered why they are well known in history. They then used this knowledge to create their own timelines, helping them understand how different monarchs fit into the past. Year 3 led a beautiful Celebration of the Word asking others to reflect on their journey through Lent and the sacrifice Jesus made in the desert. We represented our Lenten promises in a crown of thorns to remind us that through our sacrifices, we are journeying with Jesus to his death and resurrection.

This week in RE, Year 4 have rewritten the Our Father in their own words and made up actions to make it easier to understand. In English, they have used similes and descriptive vocabulary to write their own poems.

In RE, Year 4 have been rewriting the Our Father in their own words to help them better understand the meaning of this important prayer. They also created actions to go with each part, helping them remember the prayer and reflect on its message in a fun and engaging way.

Year 3 led a beautiful Celebration of the Word, inviting everyone to reflect on their journey through Lent and the sacrifice Jesus made in the desert. The children represented their Lenten promises by creating a crown of thorns, reminding us that through our own sacrifices we journey with Jesus towards his death and resurrection. It was a thoughtful and prayerful time for our school community.

The Mini Vinnies have been very busy preparing for Red Nose Day! We’re looking forward to taking part in this special fundraising day on Friday 20th March and supporting such an important cause. Thank you to our Mini Vinnies for all their hard work helping to make the day a success!

Year 2 have had an exciting and varied week of learning! 🎶  Music Workshop The children loved taking part in a special piccolo workshop inspired by Samuel Pepys. They had great fun exploring music from the past and experimenting with different sounds and rhythms. 📚  Reading In today’s reading lesson, the class learned all about orangutans. After a quick fact-finding task, they used dictionaries to look up new vocabulary—building both their knowledge and dictionary skills! �

Year 5 have had a brilliant week in school. As well as preparing for our Easter production, we have been practising our songs for our upcoming Celebration of the Word. In RE, we have been thinking about the importance of Lent. The children created some wonderful acrostic poems, showcasing how we should live as followers of Jesus. Year 1 learned about the tortoise zone in their RISE session today. They thought about how they might feel in this zone and discussed ways they can help themselves when they feel that way. They looked at different types of rest. The children then created their own mantras to use to support themselves when they are in the tortoise zone.
