Well, that's a wrap for Year 4 2026. Thank you to all my amazing Year 4 children for a truly fabulous year. This week, we spent time working together on RHE!

Year 5 have had a wonderful penultimate week of the school year. We have continued enjoying our class reader, The Polar Bear Explorers' Club by Alex Bell. This brilliant book is packed with magical creatures, exciting adventures and plenty of surprises, and we have thoroughly enjoyed reading it aloud together. We also took part in two sessions on e-safety and anti-bullying. The children asked thoughtful questions, listened carefully and engaged brilliantly in the discussions.

Year 6 had an unforgettable time on their residential visit to Borrowdale in the beautiful Lake District. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, enjoying glorious sunshine throughout the trip, making it the perfect opportunity to make the most of the fantastic outdoor activities on offer. What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of an amazing year! 🎉 Our Year 6 pupils had an incredible End of Year Fun Day, packed with laughter, excitement and plenty of treats! They took on the inflatable assault course, challenged their friends on the bungee run and enjoyed delicious candy floss, along with even more goodies back in the classroom. 🍭

Year 5 gave a truly fantastic performance of their scene from The Tempest at the Playmaking Festival. From the moment they stepped onto the stage at The Northern Stage, they demonstrated confidence, enthusiasm, and incredible teamwork. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 had a fantastic morning at their Sports Day! The children took part in a range of exciting activities and races, showing great enthusiasm, determination and teamwork throughout the event. Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne is a free, family-friendly art trail taking place across Newcastle and North Tyneside from 15th July to 14th September. 43 big and 53 little Peter Rabbit sculptures will be located in parks, streets and public buildings – and one of the sculptures was designed by our talented children! The trail is raising funds for St Oswald’s Hospice and looks set to be a great free family activity for the holidays. The trail has a website, www.talesonthetyne

Year 5 had a fantastic RE lesson today, exploring the Creation story in Genesis. They enjoyed discussing how the story links to stewardship and our responsibility to care for the world around us, ensuring it is protected for future generations. It was wonderful to hear their thoughtful ideas, insightful discussions and reflections as they considered how we can all play a part in looking after God’s creation.

Our Year 2 children had a fantastic trip to Scotswood Community Garden, where they spent the day learning about plants, animals and the natural world around them. We began by exploring the four main parts of a flowering plant: the roots, stem, leaves and flower. The children learned that roots anchor the plant and absorb water and nutrients, the stem supports the plant and transports these nutrients, leaves help the plant make food using sunlight, and the flower plays an impo

Year 5 had a wonderful trip to Keswick this week. They enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including canoeing, hill walking, rock climbing, and games in the park. They also visited the Mountain Rescue Centre, where they learned about the invaluable work carried out by the dedicated volunteers who help keep people safe in the local fells. It was a fantastic trip, full of adventure, teamwork, and memorable experiences.

Year 1 had a wonderful RE lesson thinking about their global neighbours and how we are all connected under the same sky. Inspired by King David’s psalm, the children reflected on how, no matter who we are or where we come from, we all share one sky and one sun. They then created beautiful artwork to represent this idea, celebrating the ways we are connected to people all around the world. What a thoughtful and creative lesson!

On Wednesday, 1 July, the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) celebrates its 20th anniversary! To mark this special occasion, Year 1 created some thoughtful thank you cards which will be passed on to NEAS staff as a way of showing our appreciation for everything they do to help and care for our communities. A huge thank you to all the incredible NEAS staff for their dedication and service.

Saturday 13th June 2026, Sacred Hear t Church

Reception Class shared a wonderful Celebration of the Word with the whole school this morning. They spoke beautifully about the importance of friendship and reminded us how we can be good friends to one another, just as Jesus was. Their confidence, thoughtful reflections and joyful participation made it a very special celebration for everyone.
