In Choir, this week, Year 4 have started looking ahead to Advent! They are really enjoying their new class text, 'Farther' and made some super predictions.

Y Year 5 have had a brilliant first week back at school! They have been enjoying the daily Barvember challenges and are becoming quicker and more confident at solving them. English has been great fun, with the children thoroughly enjoying our new book, The Lizzie and Belle Mysteries. Year 3 have started an exciting new unit of learning in Computing, focusing on programming and coding. To begin their learning, the children had the opportunity to explore and 'tinker' with the Scratch programming programme. Year 3 have been learning all about the Liturgy of the Word during their RE lessons. They explored the different parts that make up this important section of the Mass, developing their understanding of how Scripture is shared and celebrated during our worship. The children also discovered that the Church follows a three-year cycle of readings, meaning that different parts of the Bible are explored each year. Year 4 had great fun in PE this week where they had to use their body parts to make letters of the alphabet. In French, they showed amazing focus and listening skills as they learnt how to write sentences about people's names.

Year 3 looked at the significance of Sunday as a Holy Day in their RE lessons today. We created short films to explain why Sunday is an important day for Christians and looked at the significance of the word 'Ecclesia' meaning a gathering of people.

Today, Mrs Summersby led a whole-school assembly to mark World Mental Health Day, which took place on Saturday. The children reflected on the importance of looking after our mental health, just as we look after our physical health.
