In their RHE lessons, Year 3 took a closer look at the media and the influence it can have on all of us. Year 5 have had a brilliant week in school! We have enjoyed lots of poetry in both RE and English, exploring different styles and having fun playing with words. Year 3 enjoy taking a brain break in between our busy timetable of lessons. This week we loved completing 4 minute drawing tutorials and were all thrilled with how our art work turned out.  We also continue to enjoy our Rugby sessions with coach Gavin. Today, we progressed to playing mini games in small groups. We can't wait to take part in the inter schools tournament after half term.

Year 1 Get Creative with 3D Art! 🎨 Year 1 had lots of fun creating their own 3D artwork this week! Year 6 had an exciting and inspiring visit to Nissan today, where they learned all about how cars are made. We explored how construction lines work and discovered the importance of teamwork and organisation in large-scale production. Year 6 visited the Theatre Royal today to see the new musical ‘Wierd’  — and they loved it! Amazing songs, gripping special effects, and plenty of wow moments. A fantastic morning out for everyone! Year 4 continue to produce some stunning pieces of work during Art, where they have been carefully creating collages. In T1 Rugby, they really impressed their coach this week, getting to grips with attacking and defending, in small sided games.

Year 3 enjoyed getting hands-on in their Science lesson today! They learned all about the rock cycle, using sweets to simulate molten rock formation. The best part? They got to 'eat' their rocks at the end! A fun and tasty way to bring learning to life!

In English, the children have been thinking carefully about how Beegu felt at different parts of the story. This week in Year 6 has been full of reflection and achievement. Our class worship group led us thoughtfully through our theme of service , linking it to the reading of The Washing of the Feet . As part of our English lessons on The Owl and the Pussycat , the children worked in pairs to explore the story in depth. They created thoughtful questions and imaginative responses, taking turns to ask and answer, which helped them practise their speaking, listening, and creative thinking skills. Year 4 have continued to work brilliantly during their T1 rugby sessions, where they learnt rules surrounding tackling, this week. In Music, Miss Hurley has been really impressed with Year 4's recall of the musical dynamics.

Year 3 took part in a Carbon Monoxide Safety workshop with Bonanza Creative. They helped #SafetySeymour and learnt how to keep themselves and their families safe from carbon monoxide. We know where in the home carbon monoxide may be present in the home and the symptoms we might need to look for.

Year 3 worked as a team to help the Mayor of Hamlin with a job advertisement to help him to get rid of the rat infestation problem that has hit the city.

In science, we have been learning about the different properties of materials. The children enjoyed exploring conductors and insulators, as well as soluble and insoluble materials. In geography, we continued our topic on energy by learning about renewable energy, including its benefits and some of the challenges it presents.

Year 3 enjoyed another great rugby session with our coach, Gavin. This week, we focused on our tackling skills and took part in different activites to help us to understand how we could apply these skills into a real life game. In our DT lesson this week, we progressed to mastering cross stitch. We can see real progress in our sewing skills in just a few weeks.

Year 3 have been working hard in their coding unit of their computing lessons. We 'remixed' an existing piece of code work to make creative changes to the programme.
