Today, Year 1 took part in our school’s Remembrance Service, led by Mrs Mooney. The children joined the rest of the school community in observing the two-minute silence, showing great respect as we remembered those who lost their lives in wars and conflicts.

After the service, the class spent some time learning more about the meaning of Remembrance Day and why it is such an important occasion. They discovered the significance of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance and reflected on how it helps us to honour and remember those who have served.

To finish the day, the children created their own beautiful poppy-themed artwork. Each piece was a thoughtful tribute, showing both creativity and understanding of this special day.
