Today, Year 1 enjoyed an exciting visit to Asda as part of their History topic all about toys from the past. During their visit, the children explored the wide range of toys for sale, taking the time to look closely at how they are made and what materials have been used.
They sketched some of the toys that caught their eye and made detailed lists of all the different materials they could see — from plastic and metal to fabric and wood. The children also thought carefully about how each toy is used and who it might be designed for.
Back in the classroom, Year 1 will use everything they discovered to help them compare modern toys with those from the past, deepening their understanding of how toys have changed over time.
