Year 3 had a fantastic time celebrating French Day with a range of exciting activities all about French language and culture.
Throughout the day, the children explored French food, learning the names of popular dishes and discovering some of the delicious treats enjoyed in France. They took part in fun, interactive activities that helped develop their vocabulary while learning about French cuisine.
The highlight of the day was a visit to our wonderful French Café, where the children were able to put their learning into practice. They confidently used simple French phrases to order food and drinks, creating an authentic café experience while practising their speaking skills.
Our learning also took us beyond France as we discovered that Belgium is another country where French is widely spoken. This was especially exciting because Belgium is one of the countries in our school's World Cup sweepstake! The children enjoyed finding out about Belgian culture and making connections between their language learning and current events around the school.
It was a fun-filled day that brought language learning to life, helping the children build confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning French. Bravo, Year 3!
