Year 5 have enjoyed another fantastic and productive week at school. In English, the children have been busy writing their own prequels to the story Rumaysa. They have impressed us all with their ambitious vocabulary choices, confident use of clauses, and detailed characterisation. It has been wonderful to see their creativity flourish, with each story offering a unique and engaging perspective.

As part of our upcoming Play Festival, we have been exploring The Tempest in greater depth during our drama lessons. The children have shown great enthusiasm as they bring the text to life, developing their understanding of characters, themes and performance skills.

We were also treated to a special “Celebration of the Word”, led by a group of children, centred on the theme of discipleship. They carefully selected meaningful scripture, thoughtful imagery and uplifting hymns, and shared a powerful message linked to Catholic Social Teaching. It was a calm and reflective time, enjoyed by all, and a lovely opportunity for us to come together as a class.
