Year 6 had a wonderful opportunity to meet representatives from Daft as a Brush (DAAB), who visited the school to share the incredible work they do within the local community.

The volunteers spoke to the whole school about the charity’s mission of providing free transport to and from hospital appointments, helping the children understand the difference that kindness, compassion and service can make in the lives of others.

After the presentation, Year 6 were excited to have a closer look inside one of the DAAB ambulances and ask the volunteers questions about their roles. They learned about the importance of volunteering and how rewarding it can be to support those in need.

The visit linked perfectly with Year 6’s RE learning about being modern witnesses and their topic of healing and caring for others. It was inspiring for the children to see such powerful examples of people putting these values into action every day.
