In their RISE session today, Year 1 explored the Rabbit Zone. They thought about how they might feel in this zone and discussed ways they could support themselves. The children then enjoyed some mindful time, thinking about their happy place—focusing on everything they could see, hear, feel and smell—before recording it in their workbooks and reflecting on why it helps them feel calm. A lovely session focused on wellbeing and self-awareness.

This week, our whole school community is proudly celebrating Neurodiversity Celebration Week. Today, every class explored the many different types of neurodiversity and discovered how our brains can work in wonderfully unique ways. The children reflected on how they can support one another, showing kindness, understanding and respect for everyone’s differences. Today, Father Michael celebrated Mass with us  It was a truly special time of worship, with everyone reading, singing, and praying so beautifully. We are so proud of the reverence and participation shown by all.

It was lovely to see our Spiritual Movement Club in action.  They moved with such grace and reverence, worshipping in a truly creative and inspiring way.

Year 6 have been taking time this Lent to reflect on how they can grow in love, kindness, patience and forgiveness.  Building on the seeds they planted last week, the children created beautiful hearts filled with ideas about the kind things they have done and the kind things they can do for others. Year 6 took part in their next RISE session where they explored the Zones of Regulation and discussed how different emotions can affect the way we think and behave. They began by revisiting the exercises and strategies they have already learned, including breathing techniques, taking a mindful moment and using positive self-talk. Today, Year 1 took part in their Lenten challenge to Plant and Pray . They planted their seeds and reflected on how kindness, patience and faith can help them grow into the best versions of themselves. After planting their seeds, the children decided what they will try to do during Lent, such as praying each day, helping at home and spreading kindness to others. Today in our Faith in Action session, Gerard and Jo worked with the children to reflect on Bishop Stephen Wright’s message from yesterday’s Mass. They considered the thought-provoking question: “What should the Church be like in 10 years?” Working in pairs, the children selected nine statements from eleven and organised them into a Diamond 9, carefully ranking each one by importance. They engaged in rich discussion, confidently explaining their choices and linking their ideas

Luke did an amazing job speaking to his Year 6 classmates about Chinese New Year! He shared lots of fascinating traditions, showed videos of the celebrations and explained how his own family celebrates. It was wonderful to learn more about this special festival — and the class were especially excited when he kindly brought in red packets for everyone to take home! Year 3 loved their ‘Brain Buddies’ session with Jenny from the RISE this afternoon. They explored the idea of their brain buddy – the part of the brain that speaks kindly and helps them feel positive and confident. They also discussed the brain bully and how that voice can sometimes influence how they feel about themselves. Today, Mrs Summersby and the Wellbeing Council led a whole-school assembly for Children’s Mental Health Week  They explored this year’s theme, ‘This Is My Place’ and what it means to feel a sense of belonging. They also shared details of our art activity planned by Ricky Martin and @_place2be.

Our School Council met today to create a child-friendly version of our behaviour policy.  They proudly represented their classes, clearly setting out our school values and expectations. They’re excited to share their work in assembly next week and launch a competition to make the policy accessible for all!

Everyone had an amazing day celebrating our Diversity Day. It was wonderful to celebrate what makes us, us and to reflect on all the things that shape who we are. We shared our heritage, cultures, hobbies, languages we speak and the countries our families are from, as well as special items that are meaningful to us. Through lots of exciting activities, we showcased what we are made up of and celebrated our uniqueness — reminding us just how special everyone is!

An amazing performance in Sacred Heart Church by Year 5 and Year 6. They worked well as a team to spread the message of hope, peace and joy at Christmas. Have a very Merry Christmas, and thank you for all your support, cards and gifts.  🎄✨

This morning, our Faith In Action team led us in a beautiful Advent Reflection A thoughtful and prayerful time as we prepare our hearts during this special season.

What a wonderful week we’ve had in Year 5! Our Christmas party day was brilliant, with lots of games, crafts and dancing enjoyed by everyone. The nativity performance was outstanding, featuring beautiful singing and confident reading that told the story of the first Christmas so clearly and thoughtfully. It was wonderful to welcome Gerard and Jo from the Parish to worship with us as we marked the end of the Jubilee Year Together, the children dressed the cradle and shared the toys donated as part of our Toy Appeal. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped bring joy to others.

This morning, Mrs Mooney led us in worship, reminding us about the end of the Jubilee Year and the message of the Angels of Hope . She set us a special mission — to create angels to share hope and kindness within our community.  Year 6 have already created their angels and passed some to the SVP. They also have more ready to be shared around the local area or given to someone special who may need a little hope and joy. A wonderful example of living out our faith through love
