Tonight, our talented Year 4 and Year 5 pupils gathered at Sacred Heart Church for their Easter performance. They read, sang and acted beautifully, sharing the Easter story and the importance of the sacrifice made, reminding us all how we carry this message in our own lives. Their performance brought the story to life in such a meaningful and memorable way. We are incredibly proud of their confidence, expression and teamwork—what a fantastic performance!

Year 6 have been taking time this Lent to reflect on how they can grow in love, kindness, patience and forgiveness. In RE, Year 4 have been rewriting the Our Father in their own words to help them better understand the meaning of this important prayer. They also created actions to go with each part, helping them remember the prayer and reflect on its message in a fun and engaging way.

Year 5 enjoyed creating acrostic poems in RE this week. They have been learning about Lent, discussing the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ and exploring words linked to this special time in the Church’s liturgical year. The children used these ideas to create thoughtful poems about how we, as Christians, try to live like Jesus.

Year 1 stepped into the role of parishioners who had gathered for a Parish BBQ in their RE lesson. They thought carefully about what people might be saying and thinking, before working together to create a wonderful class picture. Their work showed how everyone can help spread God’s love in the world.

Year 1 enjoyed making their own prayer wheels to help them learn and say the Lord’s Prayer They discovered how our parish family prays these special words together before Holy Communion and reflected on why this prayer is so important to Christians. Year 1 shared the story of The Last Supper today and then beautifully retold it in their own words. They reflected on how we remember this special meal during Mass and how we are remembering Jesus, just as He asked us to do. It was lovely to hear their thoughtful ideas and understanding.

In their RE lesson, Year 1 spent time thinking about all the different parts of the Mass. They discussed what happens during it and talked about why every part is important. The children shared thoughtful ideas and are looking forward to exploring the Mass in even more detail over the coming weeks.
