Year 6 have been taking time this Lent to reflect on how they can grow in love, kindness, patience and forgiveness.  Building on the seeds they planted last week, the children created beautiful hearts filled with ideas about the kind things they have done and the kind things they can do for others. In RE, Year 4 have been rewriting the Our Father in their own words to help them better understand the meaning of this important prayer. They also created actions to go with each part, helping them remember the prayer and reflect on its message in a fun and engaging way.

Year 5 enjoyed creating acrostic poems in RE this week. They have been learning about Lent, discussing the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ and exploring words linked to this special time in the Church’s liturgical year. The children used these ideas to create thoughtful poems about how we, as Christians, try to live like Jesus.

Year 1 stepped into the role of parishioners who had gathered for a Parish BBQ in their RE lesson. They thought carefully about what people might be saying and thinking, before working together to create a wonderful class picture. Their work showed how everyone can help spread God’s love in the world.

Year 1 enjoyed making their own prayer wheels to help them learn and say the Lord’s Prayer They discovered how our parish family prays these special words together before Holy Communion and reflected on why this prayer is so important to Christians. A lovely way to support both creativity and faith development.

Year 1 shared the story of The Last Supper today and then beautifully retold it in their own words. They reflected on how we remember this special meal during Mass and how we are remembering Jesus, just as He asked us to do. It was lovely to hear their thoughtful ideas and understanding.

In their RE lesson, Year 1 spent time thinking about all the different parts of the Mass. They discussed what happens during it and talked about why every part is important. The children shared thoughtful ideas and are looking forward to exploring the Mass in even more detail over the coming weeks.

Year 1 listened to the story of Simeon and Anna and reflected on how Jesus is the most special person for the parish family. Thoughtful discussions and lovely reflections from the children.

In RE, Year 1 explored what it means to gather at church. They talked about what happens and who is there, asking and answering thoughtful questions along the way.

Year 4 have produced some stunning postage stamp designs in RE, each one reminding Christians of the important events of Christmas. Their creativity and thoughtfulness really shone through!

Sharing the love this Christmas Year 1 spent today reflecting on how we can share the love of Christ with the world at Christmas. They explored different examples of Christmas cards before creating their own beautiful designs to send to Primrose Lodge Care Home. We’re so proud of their kindness, thoughtfulness and creativity!

With Advent underway, Year 5 have made their own calendars featuring a meaningful activity for each day as they prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Year 1 listened to the story of the Visitation today and spent time thinking about how Mary and Elizabeth might have felt during their special meeting. The children shared thoughtful ideas about the joy, excitement and comfort the two women would have offered each other, and explored what they might have been saying in that moment of faith and friendship.
