A Busy Week of Learning in Year 1! 🌟

Year 1 have had another fantastic week filled with lots of exciting learning!

In English, the children have been learning all about nouns. They had great fun going on a noun hunt around school, spotting and identifying lots of different people, places and things. 🔎📚

In Maths, Year 1 have been developing their counting skills by learning how to count larger groups of objects accurately. They have worked really hard, using different strategies to help them keep track of their counting. 🔢⭐

The children have also loved continuing their learning in RE, finding out more about Creation and Christian Prayer. They have enjoyed thinking about God’s wonderful world and exploring how Christians can talk and listen to God through prayer. 🙏🌍

Year 1 also had their very first Geography lesson! They explored the many different things that geographers learn about, including people, places and the world around us. The children then used their new knowledge to create some fantastic Geography posters. 🗺️🌎

In PE, the children have been exploring and developing their fundamental movement skills. Today’s focus was on jumping, and Year 1 had lots of fun practising different ways to jump while developing their balance, coordination and control. 🏃⭐

What a brilliant week of learning, exploring and discovering in Year 1! We are so proud of how enthusiastically the children have embraced all of their new learning. 💛
