This week in Year 2 the children have carried on making their fairground wheels in DT, working on the fittings that will hold the wheel securely and help it spin freely. They’ve been really focused, testing out ideas, sharing tools sensibly, and getting excited as their wheels start to actually look and work like the real thing!

In maths, the children have been working hard to understand arrays and how they help us with multiplication and division. They’ve explored arrays using counters, cubes, and even things around the classroom, discovering how rows and columns can show both repeated addition and grouping. It’s been lovely to see their confidence grow as they begin to explain their thinking using the arrays they’ve built.

In RE, we spent time looking at the prayer Holy, Holy, Holy, which is said during the Eucharist. The children sequenced the prayer and talked about what it reminds us of. Their ideas were thoughtful and heartfelt, showing a growing understanding of why this prayer is so special.

We also completed our second reflection for our Lenten challenge, Plant and Pray. As part of this, the children thought carefully about different acts of kindness and chose one that they wanted to focus on. They each wrote their act of kindness on a wooden heart, creating a lovely collection of caring promises that will guide us through the rest of Lent.
