🌟 Year 1’s Wonderful Week! 🌟

Year 1 have enjoyed a fun-filled and thoughtful week, packed with learning, creativity and kindness.

In RE, the children made their own prayer wheels to help them pray the Our Father. They took great care with their designs and showed lovely reverence as they learned about new ways to pray.

To finish our Meals topic, the children welcomed their families to join them as they Celebrated the Word. They read, sang, and prayed beautifully. It was a truly special celebration, and we are so proud of how confidently they shared the Word of God.

In their RISE session, they learned about their Zoo Keeper brain and focused on the Dog and Monkey modes. They explored how these states feel and practised strategies to support themselves when their Dog or Monkey brain takes over. Lots of great emotional–regulation learning took place!

In History, the children began learning about the Royal Family. They started by creating family trees of King Charles III, helping them understand how royal succession works and how families are connected.

For World Book Day, Year 1 had a brilliant time in their workshop with Naomi Barley. They listened to her brand-new story and then had great fun making some of the characters—lots of imagination and giggles all round!

Finally, we are incredibly proud of Year 1 for collecting a fabulous amount of food for the food bank. Your generous donations will make a real difference to families in our community. Thank you so much for your kindness.

What a wonderful week of faith, learning, and creativity. Well done, Year 1! 🌈💛
