Today in our Faith in Action session, Gerard and Jo worked with the children to reflect on Bishop Stephen Wright’s message from yesterday’s Mass. They considered the thought-provoking question: “What should the Church be like in 10 years?” Working in pairs, the children selected nine statements from eleven and organised them into a Diamond 9, carefully ranking each one by importance. They engaged in rich discussion, confidently explaining their choices and linking their ideas

Luke did an amazing job speaking to his Year 6 classmates about Chinese New Year! He shared lots of fascinating traditions, showed videos of the celebrations and explained how his own family celebrates. It was wonderful to learn more about this special festival — and the class were especially excited when he kindly brought in red packets for everyone to take home! Thank you, Luke, for such a thoughtful, confident and informative talk. We are so proud of you!

Year 3 loved their ‘Brain Buddies’ session with Jenny from the RISE this afternoon. They explored the idea of their brain buddy – the part of the brain that speaks kindly and helps them feel positive and confident. They also discussed the brain bully and how that voice can sometimes influence how they feel about themselves. Over the coming weeks, Year 3 will be learning strategies to help them listen more to their brain buddies and regulate any uncomfortable feelings in healt

Today, Mrs Summersby and the Wellbeing Council led a whole-school assembly for Children’s Mental Health Week They explored this year’s theme, ‘This Is My Place’ and what it means to feel a sense of belonging. They also shared details of our art activity planned by Ricky Martin and @_place2be.

Our School Council met today to create a child-friendly version of our behaviour policy. They proudly represented their classes, clearly setting out our school values and expectations. They’re excited to share their work in assembly next week and launch a competition to make the policy accessible for all!

Everyone had an amazing day celebrating our Diversity Day. It was wonderful to celebrate what makes us, us and to reflect on all the things that shape who we are. We shared our heritage, cultures, hobbies, languages we speak and the countries our families are from, as well as special items that are meaningful to us. Through lots of exciting activities, we showcased what we are made up of and celebrated our uniqueness — reminding us just how special everyone is!

What a wonderful week we’ve had in Year 5! Our Christmas party day was brilliant, with lots of games, crafts and dancing enjoyed by everyone. The nativity performance was outstanding, featuring beautiful singing and confident reading that told the story of the first Christmas so clearly and thoughtfully. It was wonderful to welcome Gerard and Jo from the Parish to worship with us as we marked the end of the Jubilee Year Together, the children dressed the cradle and shared the toys donated as part of our Toy Appeal. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped bring joy to others.

This morning, Mrs Mooney led us in worship, reminding us about the end of the Jubilee Year and the message of the Angels of Hope . She set us a special mission — to create angels to share hope and kindness within our community. Year 6 have already created their angels and passed some to the SVP. They also have more ready to be shared around the local area or given to someone special who may need a little hope and joy. A wonderful example of living out our faith through love

Today, lots of our school family joined us at Sacred Heart Church to celebrate Bambinelli Sunday Children brought their knitted baby Jesus to be blessed by Father Michael, marking this special tradition on the Third Sunday of Advent. Our Christmas Choir then sang beautifully for families and parishioners, spreading festive cheer to all. A huge well done to our Mini Vinnies, who led a wonderful assembly today all about the amazing work of Save the Children. They also explained the real difference made by everyone’s support for yesterday’s Christmas Jumper Day!

Sharing the love this Christmas Year 1 spent today reflecting on how we can share the love of Christ with the world at Christmas. They explored different examples of Christmas cards before creating their own beautiful designs to send to Primrose Lodge Care Home. We’re so proud of their kindness, thoughtfulness and creativity!

Nativity Magic! Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 absolutely wowed us this week with their amazing nativity, “Prickly Hay”! From beautiful singing to brilliant dancing and wonderful acting, they brought the Christmas Story to life in the most joyful way. We are so proud of every single one of them!

Our amazing Mini Vinnies were hard at work today! They came together in school to plan our Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day, happening next week — and we can’t wait! Get those festive jumpers ready and join us in supporting a fantastic cause.

Well done to our fantastic Christmas Choir! They wowed the crowd at Gosforth Shopping Centre today, filling the whole place with festive cheer and putting a smile on everyone’s faces in our local community! Thank you Gosforth Central for having us!

Year 5 joined other Catholic schools at St Mary’s Cathedral for a beautiful Christmas Carol Service today. They sang wonderfully and prayed together to begin the festive season.

Children took part in a thoughtful Remembrance Day reflection led by Mrs Mooney. The whole school gathered to remember and honour those who gave their lives in service. The children showed great reverence and respect as they observed the minute’s silence, wearing their poppies with pride.
