Year 5 enjoyed creating acrostic poems in RE this week. They have been learning about Lent, discussing the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ and exploring words linked to this special time in the Church’s liturgical year. As part of our World Book Day celebrations, Year 3 loved their visit from local author, Naomi Barley. She told us all about her new book, as well as giving us some top tips on how to become a published author. We were very inspired and got to work at creating our own stories inspired by some of the themes in Naomi's books. We also took part in the BBC Live lesson to help us to understand our reading habits and what type of reader we are.

A group of our Year 4 pupils led their peers in a beautiful Celebration of the Word based on the theme of forgiveness. They spoke confidently, shared thoughtful reflections and helped everyone take time to think about the importance of saying sorry and forgiving others. Luke did an amazing job speaking to his Year 6 classmates about Chinese New Year! He shared lots of interesting traditions, showed videos of the celebrations, and explained how his own family celebrates.
