Year 5 have had a brilliant start to the summer term. This week, they were lucky enough to attend a workshop at Northern Stage as part of a playmaking festival. Year 3 have loved their RISE project ‘Brain Buddies’ sessions with Jenny. On Thursday, they completed their final session, recapping on their previous learning and how they can implement some of the strategies we have discovered during the course of the lessons. Year 3 have started their new focus text in their English lesson, Mal Peet's 'Cloud Tea Monkeys'. Today we became royal tea tasting apprentices and used our sense to help us describe the different flavours and aromas of a variety of different teas. We tried to use vivid and descriptive language to make the teas sound appealing to the Royal Tea Taster.

Year 1 have had a wonderfully busy and productive couple of weeks, filled with creativity, exploration, and learning across the curriculum. Year 3 completed their prehistoric art work today. Inspired by Stone Age man, children used natural paints and materials to create the texture of a stone surface then used charcoal to depict different animals as we know this was something that was often used in art work from that time.

Year 4 have produced some simply stunning Easter cards to share with their families. Each one has been created with such care, creativity and thought, making them truly special keepsakes. A beautiful way to celebrate the joy and meaning of Easter!

Year 5 have had a brilliant week at school. Tonight, our talented Year 4 and Year 5 pupils gathered at Sacred Heart Church for their Easter performance. They read, sang and acted beautifully, sharing the Easter story and the importance of the sacrifice made, reminding us all how we carry this message in our own lives. Their performance brought the story to life in such a meaningful and memorable way. We are incredibly proud of their confidence, expression and teamwork—what a fantastic performance!

Year 3 and 4 Book Club celebrated the end of their novel today with a fantastic party! They enjoyed a range of snacks inspired by their text, The Extincts by Veronica Cossanteli, and shared their thoughts on the exciting conclusion. The children also had great fun playing ‘Hunt the Basilisk’, bringing the story to life through play and teamwork! Book Club have thoroughly enjoyed this text this half term and would definitely recommend it to their friends.
