This morning, we began our new English unit of work based around Roald Dahl's 'The BFG'. We look closely at character description and setting and then adapted and improved sentences using different word classes. This afternoon, we enjoyed 'tinkering' with Scratch this afternoon as a way to re-familiarise ourselves with the software before we explore it further in our programming unit of work.

As part of their work on Judaism, Year 5 created Mezuzahs as they have been learning about the importance of the Shema prayer. Remembrance Day-Tuesday 11th November 2025
Children took part in a thoughtful Remembrance Day reflection led by Mrs Mooney. The whole school gathered to remember and honour those who gave their lives in service. The children showed great reverence and respect as they observed the minute’s silence, wearing their poppies with pride. Tuesday 11th November 2025
Today, Year 1 took part in our school’s Remembrance Service, led by Mrs Mooney. The children joined the rest of the school community in observing the two-minute silence, showing great respect as we remembered those who lost their lives in wars and conflicts. We have loved creating our own fantasy narratives based on Angela McAllister's fantastic book, 'Leon and the Place Between'. Year 5 have had a fabulous week of learning! In ICT, we became ‘web crawlers’ during a fun treasure hunt activity that helped us understand how search engines work.
