Year 4 have continued to work brilliantly during their T1 rugby sessions, where they learnt rules surrounding tackling, this week. In Music, Miss Hurley has been really impressed with Year 4's recall of the musical dynamics.

Year 3 took part in a Carbon Monoxide Safety workshop with Bonanza Creative. They helped #SafetySeymour and learnt how to keep themselves and their families safe from carbon monoxide. We know where in the home carbon monoxide may be present in the home and the symptoms we might need to look for.

This week in Year 6 has been full of reflection and achievement. Our class worship group led a thoughtful and meaningful worship centred on the theme of service, linking beautifully to the reading The Washing of the Feet. We shared a quiet moment of reflection, thinking about how we can serve others in our daily lives, and finished with the hymn ‘Servant King’, which brought the worship together perfectly. A truly calm and inspiring time for everyone involved.

Year 3 worked as a team to help the Mayor of Hamlin with a job advertisement to help him to get rid of the rat infestation problem that has hit the city.

In science, we have been learning about the different properties of materials. The children enjoyed exploring conductors and insulators, as well as soluble and insoluble materials. In geography, we continued our topic on energy by learning about renewable energy, including its benefits and some of the challenges it presents.

Year 1 listened to the story of Simeon and Anna and reflected on how Jesus is the most special person for the parish family. Thoughtful discussions and lovely reflections from the children.

Year 3 enjoyed another great rugby session with our coach, Gavin. This week, we focused on our tackling skills and took part in different activites to help us to understand how we could apply these skills into a real life game. In our DT lesson this week, we progressed to mastering cross stitch. We can see real progress in our sewing skills in just a few weeks.

Year 3 led a thoughtful and inspiring worship based on the theme of service. They carefully considered how each part of the worship could enhance the message, creating a truly beautiful moment of reflection for everyone involved.

Year 3 have been working hard in their coding unit of their computing lessons. We 'remixed' an existing piece of code work to make creative changes to the programme.

We have been working hard in Year 2 and have started lots of exciting new units in our learning. In English, we are focusing on the poem The Owl and the Pussy-cat . We have been reading the poem carefully, learning new vocabulary, and exploring the characters and events in the story. Year 1 have had a lovely and very busy week! In Science, the children planted their own beans and are excited to observe how they grow and change over time. In English, they enjoyed exploring the story Beegu , thinking carefully about how she feels at different points in the story. Year4 have had another incredibly busy week! In PE, they have displayed excellent hand-eye coordination when practising ball skills and continue to love their T1 Rugby sessions. In French, they have been writing sentences about animals using colour adjectives. To end the week, they produced some gorgeous acrostic poems to celebrate D iversity Day.

Year 5 have had a brilliant week. Our visit to Nissan  was amazing and gave the children the opportunity to use their coding skills and see real-life robots in action. As part of our geography work, we were visited by a scientist specialising in solar energy, who helped us learn all about this important renewable resource. We also enjoyed Diversity Day , where we talked about what makes each of us special and unique.

Everyone had an amazing day celebrating our Diversity Day. It was wonderful to celebrate what makes us, us and to reflect on all the things that shape who we are. We shared our heritage, cultures, hobbies, languages we speak and the countries our families are from, as well as special items that are meaningful to us. Through lots of exciting activities, we showcased what we are made up of and celebrated our uniqueness — reminding us just how special everyone is!

We have been revisiting our sewing skills to help us move forward in our new Design Technology unit, Making Cushions. We are working hard to independently thread our needles and knot our thread as well as consolidating our running stitch skills.

Y6 have had great fun in French. They have been learning about their body and movements. All of this knowledge was put to the test when they had to complete a dance routine!

Y6 have enjoyed talking about 'sources' as part of their current RE topic. Today, they have worked in small groups to develop their understanding of how to find references using the Bible.
