We've had another fantastic week here in Year 5. In our RE lessons, we've been learning about commitment and promises. What a brilliant week we've had here in Year 5! In Maths, we've had great fun problem-solving with squared numbers and demonstrated excellent resilience while tackling the challenges. Neil, from Big Science, came into school to share a fantastic workshop with us about the chemistry behind our skeletons. We loved taking part in the experiments and learning more about the importance of calcium to our bones.

Year 2 enjoyed their visit to the Laing Art Gallery. They looked at a variety of artworks and explored both realistic and abstract styles and techniques. The children produced some lovely still life pieces themselves, using different materials and mediums.

Year 5 have had a fabulous week of learning! In ICT, we became ‘web crawlers’ during a fun treasure hunt activity that helped us understand how search engines work. As part of our RE topic, we created beautiful leaflets explaining how followers of Jesus live. This was a lovely piece of work, with lots of thoughtful links to scripture. Year 6 are working hard to develop their individual hockey skills before they play in teams and begin to play matches.
