Year 6 have begun to design the base for their buzzer game. They thought carefully about the design and how the net of the shape would mean that some of the images would have to be drawn up-side-down to be correct when put together.

Year 5 have had a fantastic first week back at school. They have been exploring materials and their properties in science, learning about the Mars Rover and data transmission in ICT, and discovering different forms of energy in geography.

In English, we have began looking at the traditional tale of The Pied Piper of Hamlin. We will be studying different versions of the tale and comparing and contrasting them. We started by looking at the townspeople of Hamlin and what we could infer about them from the clues in the text. Year 3 loved their first rugby session with the Newcastle PE Service. We showed excellent spatial awareness and impressive ball-handling skills, throwing ourselves into the lesson with enthusiasm and teamwork. We can't wait to take part in the inter-schools tournament.

Year 2 have had a wonderful and festive run-up to Christmas. They performed brilliantly in their nativity and enjoyed a fun-filled party day. What a wonderful week we’ve had in Year 5! Our Christmas party day was brilliant, with lots of games, crafts and dancing enjoyed by everyone.
