Year 5 really enjoy planning and delivering their weekly Celebration of the Word. This week’s theme was service, and the children chose some wonderful music to beautifully accompany the scripture reading. A thoughtful and reflective time together.

In RE, Year 1 explored what it means to gather at church. They talked about what happens and who is there, asking and answering thoughtful questions along the way.

Happy New Year! It has been wonderful to welcome the children back to school, bright-eyed, enthusiastic, and ready to learn. Year 1 kicked off the term with an exciting start to our new English topic. Over the Christmas break, a mysterious crash site appeared in the school hall! After investigating, the children discovered that we have a friendly alien called Beegu visiting our school. This sparked lots of imagination and creativity, with the children designing lost posters,

Year 6 have begun to design the base for their buzzer game. They thought carefully about the design and how the net of the shape would mean that some of the images would have to be drawn up-side-down to be correct when put together.

Year 5 have had a fantastic first week back at school. They have been exploring materials and their properties in science, learning about the Mars Rover and data transmission in ICT, and discovering different forms of energy in geography.

Year 4 have made a superb start to 2026! They have had an incredibly busy first week back; working with the PE service in rugby, creating 3D sketches using a range of pencils, and singing with Miss Hurley. Great work, Year 4.

Year 4 pupils led a beautiful class Celebration of the Word focused on Service. They shared readings about the call of Samuel and reflected thoughtfully on how we can listen, respond and serve others in our daily lives.

In English, we have began looking at the traditional tale of The Pied Piper of Hamlin. We will be studying different versions of the tale and comparing and contrasting them. We started by looking at the townspeople of Hamlin and what we could infer about them from the clues in the text. We then embraced our acting skills to show how the people of Hamlin would have felt about a rat infestation in their beautiful houses. As you can see, the people of Hamlin are horrified and no

Year 3 loved their first rugby session with the Newcastle PE Service. We showed excellent spatial awareness and impressive ball-handling skills, throwing ourselves into the lesson with enthusiasm and teamwork. We can't wait to take part in the inter-schools tournament.

Year 2 have had a wonderful and festive run-up to Christmas. They performed brilliantly in their nativity and enjoyed a fun-filled party day. The children have been busy creating Angels of Hope, cards, puppets, gift tags and calendars. What an incredible term it has been for our Year 1 children! Since September, they have grown and learned so much and we are so proud of every single one of them. It has been a joy to watch their confidence develop, their curiosity blossom and their love of learning shine through each day. What a wonderful week we’ve had in Year 5! Our Christmas party day was brilliant, with lots of games, crafts and dancing enjoyed by everyone. The nativity performance was outstanding, featuring beautiful singing and confident reading that told the story of the first Christmas so clearly and thoughtfully. Not only can Year 6 complete crafts in English - they can do it in French too! Year 6 followed instructions on French and created an origami tree to decorate. They then wrote about what was on their trees in French. Tres Bien, Year 6!

Year 3 enjoyed retelling a French Christmas story today about how Father Christmas gets dressed for delivering presents on Christmas Eve.

Year 6 have worked well together to create Angels of Hope. They have made some for the local community and some for themselves to help spread hope and joy during Advent.
