Today, Year 3 became archaeologists to help us use our inference skills to find out more about our new English text, ‘Escape from Pompeii’ by Christine Bait. We used the clues we found in our archaeological digs to help us work out where and when the book was set and predict what might happen. We can’t wait to find out more about the city of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius.

Year 1 shared the story of The Last Supper today and then beautifully retold it in their own words. They reflected on how we remember this special meal during Mass and how we are remembering Jesus, just as He asked us to do. It was lovely to hear their thoughtful ideas and understanding.

Year 3 loved their ‘Brain Buddies’ session with Jenny from the RISE this afternoon. They explored the idea of their brain buddy – the part of the brain that speaks kindly and helps them feel positive and confident. We loved our session ‘Brain Buddies’ with Jenny from the RISE project this afternoon. We talked about our brain buddy, the part of our brain that talks to us when we feel positive and good about ourselves. We also acknowledged our ‘brain bully’ and how that might impact how we feel about ourselves sometimes. Year 3 have made so much progress in French this year. Today, we consolidated our understanding of the colours in French using a fantastic song all about a chameleon called Leon. To celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, @_place2be shared a wonderful activity based on this year’s theme, ‘This Is My Place’. Belonging is all about feeling valued, cared for and comfortable being yourself.
